Privacy policy
Effective 10 July 2026 · applies to the Dig Pic iOS app and digpic.app
Dig Pic is a darkroom, not a data business. The app runs entirely on your iPhone:
no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, no servers of ours. We do not collect your data. Period.
What the app does with data — on your device
- Photos. Dig Pic pulls photographs from your camera over its local Wi-Fi, or from an SD card / folder you pick.
They are stored in your iPhone photo library and/or inside the app's own library on your device. Editing (film looks, crop,
grain) happens on your iPhone's GPU. Photos are never uploaded anywhere by us.
- Location (optional, off by default). If you turn on geotagging, the app periodically samples your location
while it is open and keeps a short on-device track so imported photos can be stamped with where they were taken
(your camera has no GPS). The track lives in a local file, is excluded from device backups, and is never transmitted.
You can turn the feature off or erase the track in settings at any time.
- Camera Wi-Fi credentials. The camera's Wi-Fi name and password are stored in the iOS Keychain on this device only
(they are not synced to iCloud Keychain), so reconnecting is one tap.
- Your camera's screen. If you use QR/credential scanning, the iPhone camera reads the SSID and password shown on
your camera's display. Recognition happens on-device; nothing is stored except the credentials above.
- Preferences and marks. Settings and your pick/reject/like marks are stored on-device. A small mirror of settings
and photo identifiers (never photos themselves) syncs through your own private iCloud key-value storage so a reinstall
can restore your gallery state. That data is inside your Apple account; we cannot see it.
- Diagnostics. A local log (connection steps, import progress) exists to help troubleshoot. It stays on the device
unless you choose to copy or share it with us.
What leaves your device
The app talks over the network only to your camera, on the local Wi-Fi network the camera itself creates
(or your LAN). There are no calls to our servers — we don't have any — and no third-party SDKs, analytics or crash reporters.
What we collect
Nothing. Dig Pic has no sign-up and sends us no telemetry. If you email us, we see what you send and use it
only to help you; delete requests are honored by deleting the email thread.
Purchases
Dig Pic is sold through the Apple App Store. Payment, receipts and refunds are handled entirely by Apple under
Apple's privacy policy; we receive no payment details.
This website
digpic.app is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and stores nothing about you. Fonts are loaded from
Google Fonts, which may see your IP address as part of serving the font files.
Children
Dig Pic is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Since the app collects nothing,
changes should be rare and boring.
